Spring is here!

Well we are so excited that it's finally warming up outside. We were about to go crazy... It's time for walks, BBQ's, golf (Colt), swimming, and just playing out in the sun! It just makes life happy. We have come to the conclusion that we want (and need) to live in a warm location. No long winters anymore. We just can't hack it! And that's that.
Anyway, we are staying busy here. Colton is working his behind off at the Academy and is getting so much done. He has done a lot for the school already. I'm sure proud of him. And his life just got a little more busy... He was just called as our branch Executive Secretary! So he's got his work cut out for him, but he'll do amazing. That's his forte. He's got his golf pass and range pass, ready to golf his pants off! He's so excited to be able to golf again after missing last summer because of school. It gives him time to relax and unwind from work. Plus, it gives him a hot tan:) Oh and we got a new car... It's basically what Colt has always wanted.. an Audi. It's an Audi A4 quattro premium plus. It's nice. We got a really really good deal on it. Colt loves it, it's his baby. Lately he's been taking more trips into town to get stuff, but really he just wants an excuse to drive it! But it'll be fun to go on trips and stuff.

Calvin is, well, still growing. He's a little boy now. And soo dang cute. He's already a little athlete, shooting hoops in his little kid basketball hoop, and playing golf like Daddy. He's a big boy, so he'll be able to beat up kids when he needs to! Ha. He's been so much fun. He's very busy though too, keeps Mom moving! He's also enjoying nursery at church (nice break for us!) and he's always ready for a nap after. He also manages to come out of nursery with some sort of bump or red mark on his head or something...typical!
As for me, I am now 19 weeks pregnant and feeling fat haha. But I'm feeling well, starting to get a little more energy back so that's nice. We're excited to have a new addition to the family. We find out the gender the 3rd of May, so we're looking forward to that! I have also started teaching piano lessons to a few kids- two of Ben's (Colt's older brother that he's working with at the school), a neighbor boy, and I just added another girl from our branch. It gives me something to do and brings in a little extra cash so that's nice! It's fun, and good for me because it makes me work on my patience:)
The end!

New to blogging!

Hello! So I am blogging for the first time ever, so I don't really know where to begin. I wanted to start a blog so I can keep friends and family updated on what's happening, since we now live far away. We just recently moved to Keokuk, IA about a month and a half ago -almost two- and we're still getting adjusted to everything. Colton graduated from BYU-I in December '12 in Accounting, and is now the Business Manager for an academy here, Midwest Academy. It's basically a private boarding school for teenagers who are struggling with problems -such as addictions, behavior, etc. and need more individual help/support than what they get at regular public high schools. It helps them overcome whatever problems they have, and they eventually graduate with a high school diploma. His older brother Ben is the owner. Anyway! So Colton is over the accounting/finance side of the business, and is staying very busy! But it's good. He likes the challenge.

We like our apartment- it's spacious and nice. We're still adjusting to Keokuk itself. It's a small town and there's not much here. They have a Walmart- which is pretty much the only shopping in town! And they have a public pool which we're excited to go to in the summer. And there's plenty of golf courses around for Colton. But other than that, we have to drive to other places to do stuff. We are somewhat close to a lot of big cities which is fun. We recently went to Chicago and that was a blast! Oh and Nauvoo is only 20 minutes away, so that's awesome! It's such a neat place to visit. And the temple is AMAZING. So we're definitely looking forward to warm weather. There's much more to do!

So that's a little about where we are in life. We are all doing well. Little Calvin is growing like a weed. He's almost 18 months old which is hard to believe! He's such a joy. He's saying more words, and still jibber-jabbers nonstop. He loves to play with other kids, is obsessed with coloring, loves climbing anything that is climbable, and loves playing outside. He's always happy and can make anyone smile. He has, however, developed a little attitude! I just wish he would stay little forever! Love him:)
